A Letter from the President
Since 1984, Associated Educational Services of Virginia has been providing quality mental health services to youth and families in our community. For 25 years we have consistently delivered community, school and home based services aimed at preventing out of home placement of our youth and assisting parents and teachers with the challenges of teaching and preparing our youth for the future..
As a special education teacher in the public school system, I learned that the needs of these children extended far beyond the classroom. Preserving the family unit and preventing out of home placement takes a team of committed, specialized professionals.
AES was created out of a need to make service delivery to this population cohesive and effective. We have grown over the years and added programs as the needs of our families and communities have dictated. AES has grown from a staff of two in 1984 to a strong staff of over 130 committed mental health and educational professionals. We have serviced thousands of children and families through our offices and programs throughout Central and Northern Virginia.
Standing on our 25 years of service to our community, AES continues to dedicate its resources to serving the underserved in our community. We remain committed to hiring and retaining some of the area’s most talented educators and mental health professionals. AES continues to reinforce these commitments through unmatched training and benefits for their employees. Our commitment to be a good corporate partner is demonstrated through partnerships with the Urban League of Greater Richmond, The Metropolitan Business League, The Urban League of Northern Virginia and the Richmond Chamber of Commerce to name a few.
In 2010, A.E.S. will continue to expand services in other regions of Virginia, the District of Columbia and Maryland. We have lots of exciting things in store for our 26th year and invite you to be a part of the excitement!
Thank you for allowing us to serve our community for 25 years.
Purcell C. Branch, Jr.
